What is GERIATRIC COUNSELING?

Geriatric counseling helps patients cope with the changes that accompanying getting older. While some people may look forward toward their golden years, retirement, grandchildren, and more, others may dread the changes associated with aging and experience depression and anxiety when thinking about their future. Some older adults face challenges when friends, partner, spouses, and peers pass away or experience isolation as the physical changes of aging make it difficult to get out and about to enjoy life. Older adults often experience ageism, which can have a negative effect on their emotional and mental well-being.
